Finding money for college is an onerous task. There are several options, many which involve borrowing money. Work-study is one option that does not involve paying back borrowed money. The work-study program provides part-time employment to students to help ease the burden of college expenses. Speaking from personal experience, work-study is a viable way to help pay for college.
When I entered college in the fall of 2005, I was concerned about the financial burden that attending a four-year private school had placed on my family. After addressing my concerns with my financial aid officer, he suggested work-study as a way to alleviate some of my tuition costs.
